32 Stadiums Tour – Stop #3: New Orleans

Crescent Gold Stadium

The City Flavor

If there’s one city in the NFL where the culture is as lively as the game itself, it’s New Orleans. Known for its music, food, and spirit, this is a place where life is celebrated every day and every meal feels like a party.

New Orleans is the heart of Creole and Cajun cuisine, and no visit is complete without tasting the bold, soulful dishes that make it famous.

Local Must-Eats:

  • Gumbo – a rich, flavorful stew of seafood, sausage, and spices that tastes like Louisiana in a bowl.

  • Jambalaya – rice, sausage, chicken, and shrimp cooked together with a spicy kick.

  • Po’ boy sandwich – stuffed with fried shrimp, oysters, or roast beef on fresh French bread.

  • Beignets – powdered-sugar-covered perfection from Café du Monde, best enjoyed with chicory coffee.

What’s on Tap

When it comes to drinks, New Orleans doesn’t play it safe. This is the city that invented the Hurricane cocktail at Pat O’Brien’s and made the Sazerac one of America’s first signature drinks.

You’ll find craft beer from local favorites like Urban South Brewery and Parleaux Beer Lab, but most visitors dive straight into Bourbon Street classics: frozen daiquiris, local rum, and the kind of cocktails that keep the music going late into the night.

And if you want to really live like a local, grab an Abita Beer, brewed just outside the city, and enjoy it with some spicy crawfish.

The Stadium Experience

  • Stadium: Caesars Superdome

  • Team: New Orleans Saints

  • Capacity: ~73,000

  • Opened: 1975

  • Vibe: Electric, emotional, and uniquely NOLA.

The Caesars Superdome is more than a football stadium—it’s a symbol of resilience. After Hurricane Katrina, the Superdome became a beacon of hope for the city, and every game since feels like a celebration of New Orleans’ comeback spirit.

The Dome’s massive enclosed design means the noise stays trapped inside allowing the Saints fans to use that to their advantage. When the Saints are rolling, the atmosphere is deafening, filled with chants of “Who Dat!” echoing from every corner.

Game Day Traditions:

  • Tailgating spills into Champions Square, right outside the Dome, filled with food, live music, and black-and-gold pride.

  • Fans arrive decked out in beads, masks, and Saints gear with a Mardi Gras twist.

  • The pregame “Who Dat Nation” chant sets the tone, led by passionate locals who treat every game like a festival.

Inside, the Dome feels more like a concert than a football game especially when the Saints score and the brass bands start playing.

Iconic City Stops

New Orleans is full of must-see spots that define its rhythm and soul:

  • Bourbon Street – music, nightlife, and endless energy.

  • French Quarter – the cultural heart of the city, full of history and food.

  • Jackson Square – the perfect place for photos and live street performances.

  • Frenchmen Street – for real jazz, local bars, and authentic New Orleans vibes.

  • Garden District – beautiful historic homes and oak-lined streets that feel timeless.

Final Takeaway

New Orleans is where football meets soul. The food is rich, the music never stops, and the fans live and breathe black and gold. Whether you’re tailgating with gumbo outside the Superdome or joining a “Who Dat” chant inside, the energy is contagious.

This 32 Stadiums Tour stop is more than a game it’s an experience steeped in flavor, music, and heart. The Saints don’t just play in New Orleans they are New Orleans.
